About SlowSifnos

Sustainable and equitable tourism in the Cyclades

We offer a slow tourism to enjoy the beauty of nature and a slow lifestyle far from the mayhem of the cities and of the typical tourist resorts, close instead to local traditions and local cuisine, enjoying a “human hospitality”. We want to address the wishes of those travellers who are not just looking for relax and fun during their holiday, but are interested in understanding the place they visit, and are keen to meet local people and discover traditions, habits, food and whatever makes a place unique. We will make available to this kind of travellers our deep knowledge of the island of Sifnos, of its traditions and places, as well as the relationships we have been able to build with the Sifnos community. We know personally all the places we are proposing for your stay and we have selected them not just for their location or comfort but also for the kindness and hospitality of their owners and managers. Thanks to our personal relationship with them we could get good prices. Moreover we do not receive any commission from the owners and managers, nor from the Sifnians participating in the other activities offered. Our aim is to contribute to the local development and to the enhancement of the island’s economy. The rates we ask for our services are all clearly specified in detail and they meet criteria of transparency and clarity. In conclusion, what we propose is an equitable tourism promoting local development and providing fair compensation to the work of everybody. We propose a sustainable tourism because all the activities we offer are respectful of natural, social and cultural environment. In our web site you will find pictures and information but do not hesitate to contact us for further clarification: tell us about your needs and wishes so we can set up together a customized stay in Sifnos.
