One of the most characteristic places of Sifnos and a favorite subject for photos.
On a small rocky promontory stands the monastery dedicated to Our Lady of Chrissopigi, the patron saint of Sifnos.
Here, on Ascension Day, takes place the most important festival on the island, when a procession of boats accompany the miraculous icon to the monastery.
The present building dates from 1650, but most probably in this place there was already a church in earlier times.
The rocks of the headland are a great place for swimming, as well as the nearby beach of Apokofto and the small cove of Saures with its smooth pebbles and crystal water.
