It is the capital town of Sifnos. The narrow streets, whitewashed houses and blue-domed churches of its center form a beautiful, traditional Cycladic settlement.
It’s where most services are: banks, the post office, petrol stations, chemist shops, a medical center, the police station, the municipal offices.
You can pay a visit to the Folk Art Museum on the main square.
The island bus service to the beaches and other villages fans out from here.
Apollonia it’s also rich in restaurants, lounge bars, cafés, and small shops selling clothing, jewellery or handicrafts.
In summer the town is buzzing with life also at night, along the “stenò”, the narrow street going up from the main square to the last houses on top of the hill. Most of the cafés, bars, shops, eateries stay open almost all night long.
